The next significant improvements in the 2025 vision will focus on the Mountain Village. Big Sky Resort has plans to transform the upper level of the Mountain Mall, creating a modern ski lodge food hall and event venue large enough to service more than 750 guests.
Indoor fireplaces and an elevator will be added, together with a curated coffee bar and traditional apres ski bars with exceptional mountain views. Lunch capacity will grow by roughly 350 additional seats. Skiers and riders can expect new food options, such as stone-fired artisan pizza, sushi, ramen and crepe stations. An expanded, elevated deck overlooking Lone Peak and the Southwest Plaza will create an ideal meeting spot for apres.
The space will double in off-periods as a new ballroom, which will become the largest of its kind at Big Sky Resort, creating a fresh, enticing space for meetings and conventions, as well as for public events and concerts.
Big Sky Resort continues to raise the bar on lodging and amenities in Mountain Village. In Spring 2020, The Huntley Lodge is anticipated to start a significant renovation of its 200 hotel rooms, keeping the unique architectural aesthetic, natural colors and textures found in Montana, with a new, sleek design to evoke a sense of authenticity and warmth. The modern mountain luxury theme enhances the guest’s experience and comfort with modern plumbing features, showers, improved sound dampening, furniture, and top-of the-line electronics throughout.
Located in the heart of Big Sky Resort's Mountain Village, this traditional slope-side ski lodge was an original landmark in the late NBC News broadcaster Chet Huntley's original vision for Big Sky Resort.
